The official website of Amazon company has officially confirmed the information about the filming of the series, based on the books of J. R. R. Tolkien “The Lord of the Rings”. The plot will be based on events that unfolded before the “Brotherhood of the Ring”. However, the contract also provides for the possibility of spin-offs.

It is known that the series will be available to users of the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. But the timing of filming is not yet reported. “The Amazon Studios team has exceptional ideas — to transfer to the screen previously unexplored stories based on the original works of John Tolkien,” said Matt Gelsor, representative of Tolkien Estate and Trust and HarperCollins.

To date, the most famous adaptation of Tolkien’s works is the film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings”, which Peter Jackson shot. The world premiere of the first part of the “Brotherhood of the Ring” was held at the end of 2001. The last part, “The Return of the King”, was published in 2003. Later, Peter Jackson produced a series of films based on Tolkien’s novel The Hobbit, or There and Back Again.
