Studio CD Projekt RED once again talked about its future plans, games in the development and thoughts about the further development of the Witcher franchise.
“Despite the fact that there are no plans for the new part of the series yet, they understand that “fans will not forgive them if they throw a franchise.”
As it became known to Sonder.ee, the head of the company Adam Kiciński shared information about the state of affairs inside the CD Projekt RED. According to Kiciński, almost all the forces in the company are spent on work on Cyberpunk 2077 and the development of the Gwent card game, the full release of which is to be held next year. Despite the fact that the studio does not have enough resources and people to deal with the fourth part of The Witcher series, the developers understand that “if they abandon the franchise, then fans and investors will not forgive them.”
It is worth noting that previously the developers have repeatedly said that the story of Geralt is final, and fans should not wait for a new game about this character. However, the universe of Andrzej Sapkowski is very rich in interesting characters and their history, and therefore everything depends only on the desire of developers from CD Projekt RED and their ideas.
Of course, the studio again raised the issue of new details of the expected game Cyberpunk 2077. However, the developers again limited themselves to the words about the scale of the new project, which will repeatedly surpass The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As for any specific details, they still have to wait.
